SHIVA GRAMODYOG MANDAL, KALIBARI, KATHUA

Shiva Gramodyog Mandal, Kathua is a NGO duly registered with Registrar of Firms & Socities (J&K), Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Govt of India, Ministry of Home affairs, Govt of India, under foreign contribution Regulation Act. The area of the operation of NGO is whole of the district Kathua. It is also a host organization of KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA (ICAR). Presently NGO is designated as PIA (Project Implementing Agency) of NAZ Watershed (IWDP), Billawar, with a total area under treatment as 8650 ha. A new unit is going to be established for production of quality spawn and pasteurized compost. A food processing unit is also being managed by the organization. Organisation is also working on cultivation & processing of Medicinal & aromatic plants.

The staff working in the organization includes ten scientists, forty field supervisors and fifteen ministerial staff, besides scores of volunteers and part time workers. Organisation has two administrative blocks, four sub-offices, two agricultural farms and other necessary infracture.
